Syracuse (13-6, 2-4 Atlantic Coast) entered Tuesday having lost four games in a row. Jim Boeheim had never lost five straight. With Pittsburgh (8-11, 0-6), winless in conference, in town SU was able to pull out a 59-45 win. Frank Howard led the way with 18 points in Syracuse’s victory in the Carrier Dome.
