With a six-game winning streak to start the 2020 season, Syracuse (6-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast) has entered into the Oracle/ITA Division I Women’s Rankings at No. 25. This is the first time SU’s been ranked in 2020. The Orange are coming off winning their first ACC game, against Boston College, last Saturday.

SU senior Guzal Yusupova sticks in the rankings at No. 77, dropping one spot since two weeks ago. The Orange’s top singles player started the season No. 64, but since has gone 3-3, losing to three ranked opponents. Mostly recently, the senior won in her first conference-play match, defeating Boston College’s Yufei Long, who’s ranked No. 90 in Division 1.

Even after six undefeated singles matches in Syracuse’s 6-0 start, senior Miranda Ramirez dropped from No. 80 to out of the rankings. Freshmen Zeynep Erman and Kim Hansen also remain undefeated in singles but have yet to be ranked.

“Numbers don’t really matter as far as I’m concerned,” head coach Younes Limam said. “At the end of the day if you get a point at one or six it’s still worth the same.”

The Orange play Columbia (6-2) on Feb. 21 and then its first ranked opponent this weekend, No. 10 Duke (7-2), on Feb. 23.
