Syracuse (16-6, 7-2 Atlantic Coast) overcame disappointing performances from its two best scorers for most of Saturday night. Tyus Battle and Elijah Hughes, the Orange’s two best scorers, combined for only 11 points against Pittsburgh (12-10, 2-7). The Panthers hung around, but behind 18 points and 12 rebounds from Oshae Brissett, a bounce-back performance from Paschal Chukwu and success in the 2-3 zone, SU pushed its conference record to 7-2.
