Syracuse did not start the weekend off the way it would have wanted.

On the first night of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Syracuse finished last in the Men’s Distance Medley Relay.

The quartet of Noah Affolder, Pascal Bastien, Nathan Henderson and Philo Germano ran the race in 11:25:05, nearly two minutes behind first-place Virginia Tech.

Prior to the race, the relay team had recorded the third-fastest time (9:44:42) in the conference.

In 2016, when Syracuse won the conference, the quarter took home the silver medal.

The only other event of the night was the women’s Distance Medley Relay, which Syracuse did not participate in. Virginia Tech’s team won gold with a 10:57:60 time. Clemson (10:58:83) and Notre Dame (11:02:01) lagged right behind them and took silver and bronze.
