The new Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I singles and doubles rankings were released on Wednesday morning and Syracuse’s top pair of Gabriela Knutson and Miranda Ramirez both featured on a list of the top collegiate players in the nation.

Knutson came in at No. 17 in the first singles rankings release of the spring season after starting off the 2018 campaign with four-consecutive singles wins. Her best win this season was a come-from-behind, three-set win last Saturday over No. 84 Rosie Johanson of Virginia, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Since the Sept. 12 release, Knutson has individually climbed 21 spots, thanks to four wins over top-100 opponents in the fall during the ITA National Fall Championships.

Ramirez and Knutson together rank No. 13 in the nation in doubles, as the two have won both of their matches together this season.  The two have climbed 34 spots up from No. 47 since Sept. 12, thanks in large part to two ranked wins over top-20 doubles pairs at the All-American Championships back in October.

Syracuse will host Connecticut in its fifth dual match of the season on Friday at 4 p.m. as the pair looks to get its third-straight doubles win and Knutson looks to keep her singles-winning streak alive.
