Former Syracuse football player Naesean Howard reportedly pleads not guilty to stabbing 2 ex-teammates
Former Syracuse defensive back Naesean Howard pled not guilty to stabbing two of his former teammates at a felony arraignment on Tuesday morning, according to Syracuse.com.
Howard ‘s charges were upgraded on Friday to include first-degree assault. In New York state, that could result in up to 25 years in prison. Howard allegedly stabbed defensive backs Corey Winfield and Chauncey Scissum at a party on South Campus on April 16.
He was arrested on two counts of second-degree assault, which would result in up to seven years in prison. Howard was also ordered to take a mental health exam at a court appearance on April 22.
Winfield was stabbed in the lower back, abdomen and wrist while Scissum was stabbed in his neck, upper chest, shoulder and lip, police said.

Howard will be back in court for a motions hearing on June 24, according to Syracuse.com.
