Syracuse women’s basketball announced its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule on Tuesday evening. After opening the season with 12 nonconference games, beginning on Oct. 31 against The College of Saint Rose and ending on Dec. 21 against St. Francis, the Orange are set to face Notre Dame at the JMA Wireless Dome to open ACC play on Dec. 31.

Last season, SU closed out with a 9-9 record in the ACC. It finished with the second-best scoring offense in the conference, averaging 71.7 points per game against conference teams. But the Orange gave up 70.3 points per game, ranking third-to-last. Their conference slate was highlighted by a 75-67 win over then-No. 14 North Carolina.

SU’s schedule includes 18 conference games. The Orange have home-and-home’s against Notre Dame, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Boston College. Syracuse’s first contest against Pitt takes place away on Jan. 21 to kickstart a two-game road trip. Four days later, SU rounds out its travel facing the Fighting Irish for the second time. Then, SU returns home to battle defending ACC-champion Virginia Tech on Jan. 28.

This season, Syracuse will play five teams solely on the road. Syracuse’s first away test comes against North Carolina on Jan. 4. A week later, it travels to Wake Forest. In February, the Orange travel to Miami on Feb. 15 and then to Virginia on Feb. 18. To close out the season, SU plays NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Feb. 29.

Syracuse returns one of the ACC’s most dominant players from last year in Dyaisha Fair. The point guard, who’s coming back for her fifth season, led the ACC in scoring last year. She averaged 20.6 points while shooting above 40%.
