Former Syracuse guard Priscilla Williams announced via Instagram on Tuesday that she is transferring to the University of South Florida. Williams entered the transfer portal on March 28 after sitting out the 2021-22 season due to a redshirt.
She spent one season with Syracuse prior to last year’s redshirt, averaging 8.7 points per game and 3.2 assists per game on SU’s 2020-21 NCAA Tournament team. Williams began the season as “day-to-day,” according to then-acting head coach Vonn Read, and she last played on March 5, 2021 in the ACC Tournament game when she sustained a season-ending injury.
Then, after the beginning of the season, Williams announced on Instagram that she had decided to redshirt her sophomore season. She continued to practice and travel with the team throughout the year. Williams became the fourth Syracuse player to enter the transfer portal after this season.
She and Teisha Hyman stood as the only two players that stayed with the Orange after the 2020-21 season, and Williams was SU’s only returning starter. Williams came to Syracuse as the No. 9 recruit in the 2020 class and the No. 6 guard in the nation.
