On Tuesday, the Atlantic Coast Conference named Syracuse’s Emma Tyrrell the league’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a career-high seven points in a 17-16 win over then-No. 17 Notre Dame. Emma also led the Orange with over seven expected goals added against the Fighting Irish, per Lacrosse Reference. This is the third week in a row that an SU player was honored with a weekly award.

Emma started the ND game with a goal in the first quarter to give Syracuse a 3-1 lead. She scored her second goal six minutes later by weaving past multiple defenders into the 8-meter and firing a shot that beat Bridget Deehan to increase SU’s lead to four. In the second quarter, Emma added her first assist of the night on a Megan Carney goal.

The two connected again in the fourth quarter when Emma tallied her third assist of the game. Trailing by four, the Fighting Irish’s Kasey Choma and Madison Ahern notched goals in less than two minutes to keep the game close. Not even a minute after Ahern’s goal, Emma scored her final goal of the game.

Notre Dame came back to tie the game, with Mary Kelly Doherty scoring with less than a minute remaining. Emma’s sister, Meaghan Tyrrell, tallied her second goal of the game in overtime to keep the Orange undefeated at 4-0.
