Emily Hawryschuk was named the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Offensive Player of the Week, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference offensive player of the week.

Hawryschuk is currently leading the nation in scoring with 35 goals in seven games. She’s also second in the nation in average goals per game, on pace to score 85 goals this season.

She recorded five goals and an assist in Syracuse’s (6-1) 10-5 win over the defending national champions, Maryland. The victory for the No. 4 Orange also marked Hawryschuk’s 200th career point, putting her in seventh on SU’s all-time point-scorers list. At her current rate, she’ll move into fifth place in goals and pass Halley Quillinan — who had 207 goals between 2007 and 2010 — this season.

Hawryschuk also had a hat-trick against Colgate on Feb. 24 in the Orange’s 21-4 victory. In the past two games, Hawryschuk has recorded eight goals and nine points.

This is the fifth time that Hawryschuk has been named ACC offensive player of the week, and the second time this year.

Syracuse plays its second of seven consecutive road games on Sunday against No. 18 Virginia Tech in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Crown Lacrosse Classic.
