In his first game as starting point guard, Joe Girard III led the Orange in scoring.
Syracuse (2-1, 0-1 Atlantic Coast) used a high-powered first-half offense to score 89 points in total in its best offensive showing of the young season. The Orange defeated Seattle (2-3), 89-67, thanks to 24 points from Joe Girard III. The freshman hit five of his six 3-point attempts.
