Syracuse drops in poll after conference-opening loss

Syracuse (2-2, 0-1 Atlantic Coast) fell two spots to No. 14 in Monday’s Inside Lacrosse media poll.
The drop follows SU’s 15-14 overtime loss to No. 13 Virginia in the Orange’s ACC opener.
North Carolina is the only ACC team not in the top-20 this week. No. 6 Duke is the highest-ranked team, with No. 10 Notre Dame, Virginia and Syracuse trailing. There’s a new No. 1, as Towson takes over the top spot from Loyola.
Syracuse hosts No. 18 Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
