Coming off victories against two top-15 opponents — Northwestern and Loyola — Syracuse traded the first nine goals with Virginia on Saturday in the Carrier Dome. But a scoring run at the end of the first half behind stingy defense gave the Orange a five-goal halftime lead, one it never lost. SU caused 15 turnovers, Emily Hawryschuk posted another four-goal game and Mary Rahal tied her career-high in assists and goals.
