Syracuse (2-1), following its 10-8 win against then-No. 13 Army on Sunday, rose to No. 12 in Monday’s Inside Lacrosse poll.

Climbing to No. 12 puts SU at its highest ranking since its preseason No. 10 slot. After falling to Colgate in the opener, the Orange plummeted to No. 20 before notching up to No. 17 after beating Albany, 13-5.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Duke remains the highest ranked team, sliding one spot down to No. 6 despite rolling Penn, 17-7. SU is now the second-highest ranked ACC team. Behind the Orange are No. 13 Virginia, No. 17 Notre Dame and No. 20 North Carolina.

Syracuse hosts the Cavaliers (2-2) on Saturday in the Carrier Dome for a 12 p.m. start, the halfway point of a seven-game home stand to start the season.
