No. 10 Syracuse (0-1) opened its season against Colgate on Friday struggling. There were times where the Orange stayed in the game, but a 6-3 halftime deficit was too much to overcome. Nate Solomon and Brendan Curry both netted hat tricks and Drake Porter registered 14 saves, but SU couldn’t over the Raiders, 12-9. Syracuse lost its first season-opener since 2013.
