No. 15 Syracuse (2-1) fell to Connecticut (3-0), 83-76, at Madison Square Garden. The Orange were boosted by 26 points from freshman point guard Jalen Carey, but the usual centerpieces of the Orange offense, Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett, didn’t get going until late in the game when it was already beyond SU’s reach.
