Onondaga running back Jason Holbrook scored on a 4-yard run and a 35-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter and was named Most Valuable Player at Friday's Section III Class D Championship.
Onondaga won the Section III Class D crown two seasons ago but didn’t repeat in 2017. On Friday night in the Carrier Dome, the Tigers took the title back, winning 20-12 over Herkimer. Onondaga relied on four interceptions, including two from its quarterback, Zachary Delaney, to hold off any Herkimer comeback attempts.
