Students began protesting Friday at 7 a.m. in Schine Student Center after Syracuse University suspended Theta Tau, a professional engineering fraternity, after a video surfaced with students using racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic slurs. Recognize US, a student group, presented a list of demands to Chancellor Kent Syverud at the sit-in. Friday is one of Syracuse University’s Spring Reception days for accepted students.
