Hundreds of Syracuse residents filled city streets in the downtown area on Saturday afternoon as part of the national March for Our Lives movement against gun violence. Hundreds of thousands of people packed together in Washington, D.C. for the movement’s central protest.
The event was spurred by a deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida that left 17 people dead in mid-February.
CORRECTION: In a previous version of this post, the number of people killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was misstated. Seventeen people were killed. The Daily Orange regrets this error.
