Syracuse looked forward to taking on the nation's No. 2 team on Saturday.
Syracuse (15-8, 4-6 Atlantic Coast) couldn’t ever get it going against No. 2 Virginia (22-1, 11-1) in a 59-44 loss Saturday in the Carrier Dome. Virginia’s bench poured in 27 points while SU’s only bench player to get in the game, freshman forward Matthew Moyer, didn’t even have a shot attempt. To go with three double-digit scorers, UVA’s pack-line defense limited SU to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor.
