Former Whitman dean Kenneth Kavajecz was arrested on prostitution charges

The former dean of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University was arrested on the charge of patronizing a prostitute, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s office confirmed Friday.

Kenneth Kavajecz, 51, was arrested on a misdemeanor of patronizing a person for prostitution in the third degree. Kavajecz was removed from his position as dean on Wednesday and put on administrative leave.

Kevin Quinn, senior vice president for public affairs at SU, released a statement to The Daily Orange after the arrest was confirmed:

“Given University policy, we are not able to discuss specifics of personnel matters. We have, however, confirmed with law enforcement that the alleged behavior did not occur on the Syracuse University campus, did not involve members of the campus community, and is unrelated to the former dean’s University responsibilities,” said Quinn.

In a meeting with the Whitman community earlier in the day, Vice Chancellor and Provost Michele Wheatly did not give any updates about the status of Kavajecz nor when an interim or permanent dean would be picked. Mike Haynie, SU’s vice chancellor for veterans and military affairs, will serve as the acting head of the school in the meantime.

Kavajecz is scheduled to appear in the Town of Salina Court on Sept. 29, per the Sheriff’s office.

  3. Prostitution is illegal, immoral, and harmful to women. BLM isn’t any of those and advocates for a group that has been maltreated systematically and psychologically throughout US history. You might be a misogynist bigot.

    BLM is all that I said it is… they stereo-type (essentially all cops bad), they lie (stats don’t show cops targeting and killing blacks out of proportion to whites and their high crime rate… recent Harvard U study), they incite violence (Ferguson, etc) and at BLM rallies (cops hit with bottles and bricks, cars jumped on, property damage). Finally, video clips of BLM marchers barking “What do we want? Dead cops!” plus “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon!”

    Prostitution is not right, but they are consenting adults.

    Quit the victimhood thing… it would have some merit if 50+ years ago, but now it doesn’t.

    YOU are the bigot and a hypocrite… supporting highly racist groups like BLM, and no doubt special treatment for minorities (many examples on the SU campus; essentially institutionalized racism). Yet, if ANY of the same was done for whites, you would be screaming.

  5. You do know that they are talking about the cops who have yet to be charged or wasn’t held accountable for their actions right? Just you being able to make light of the situation in comparison to prostitution shows just how much you are unaware of the protest. You can’t relate to any of it because you’re white. Right? But, no use in arguing with someone who found a way to come on here to discuss a matter that is unrelated to what’s going on. What makes it worse is that you probably have enough education to have an effect on young minds yet too ignorant to acknowledge, or understand, that a problem exists amongst race in this country. You should definitely be given some kind of award for that effort because clearly your response sounds like you took it off someone’s repost on Facebook. Sorry but…not sorry. Wow!

    I can relate to prejudging, lies (regarding stats), riots, destruction, and advocating the killing of cops. IF a cop does something wrong (proven and verified by facts) THEN and only then hold them accountable.

    BUT that is not the way BLM, liberals, and apparently you operate.

    It is automatic guilt upfront without facts… along with prejudging all cops, lying about what took place, and destructive protests / riots. Ferguson is a great example. Looting, burning, etc. Yet, Brown was 100% guilty of attacking the cop, and cop defending himself. “Hands up don’t shoot” never happened. And the lies continue.

  7. Just as you’ve said BLM is doing (prejudging), you’re doing the exact same thing with relating those who are looting, rioting, etc. to those who are actually doing the good for that group. You say lies yet those police departments have changed tape recordings or stories to cover themselves. This is based upon proven facts when you clearly have evidence in a recording. Fool. Makes no sense to me that people see what’s going on but try to find a way to discredit it by spewing more lies in trying to advocate for some punk cop who was having a bad day. You’re being a troll and are just too blind to see. Calling you anything else would be too much of a compliment. Probably feel that a dog’s life is more important than a human being being shot and killed after they’ve put their hands up. Comment all you want from this point on. They do not sit around and pontificate on theories and worldviews while trying to reach an objective truth. They are savages. They are out for their self interest and their self interest alone. Once you try to reason with these animals, you will come to know(and I’m sure you do know) that there’s no sense in treating them as equals. They are beneath you and if you for some religious or metaphysical/idealogical reason do not wish to grasp that concept or superiority, then these apes will continue to do as they do. You have to assert superiority and let them know the White Man is here to run shit, not take opinions from witch doctor tribes who are barely evolved enough to walk upright. Dont you see the hush and quiet that is overtaking these savages as they defeatedly accept the crowning of our new God Emperor Trump. No one cares about feelings anymore. No one cares about PC stuff. And neither should a great mind like you.

    Harmful to women? I’m sure these women are well able and old enough to make that decision themselves.
