Syracuse University student victim of attempted robbery at knifepoint

A Syracuse University student reported an attempted robbery on Tuesday in the 100 block of Remington Ave, according to an email sent out by the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services.

The student reported that while she was walking alone, she was approached by an unknown male who displayed a knife and demanded money. An uninvolved party interrupted the robbery and the man fled on foot, according to the email.

The Syracuse Police Department is investigating the case and is being assisted by the Department of Public Safety.

The area where the attempted robbery happened is outside of the DPS’s normal patrol area, according to the email.

  1. Let me guess… the perp was black, yet you don’t mention it so you don’t get accused of ‘horrible profiling’ by the diversity nuts. If I am correct, don’t let facts get in the way of trying to find this dirt-bag…allowing him to commit more crimes. Ridiculous!
