First Niagara Bank on E. Adams St., which is less than a mile from the Syracuse University campus, was robbed on May 11, according to the Syracuse Police Department.
A man in his 20s, who was seen on the bank’s surveillance footage wearing a red “Riddicks” t-shirt and a gray baseball hat, walked into the bank and gave a teller a note that demanded money, according to an SPD release. After receiving some cash, the man fled on foot down E. Adams St.
SPD has not identified the suspect and is asking the public for assistance.
No injuries were reported in the robbery, according to SPD.
The robbery is a part of a string of four unsolved bank robberies that have occurred in the city of Syracuse since March. SPD is unsure of whether the robberies are connected, according to the release.
