Following two months of preparation, Syracuse University blew out its birthday candles in grand style. Monday marked SU’s 144th birthday — monumental because of the number 44’s folkloric SU legend — and the university memorialized the anniversary with pomp and circumstance. The celebration was brought to life by various alumni offices across the nation.
Events including signing a birthday card and Otto appearances spanned campus-wide, culminating in a glow-in-the-dark photo on the Quad. Here’s a glance at some of the ways Syracuse proudly ushered in its 144th birthday.
